June l, 1732, Samuel Scholey of Nutown, N.J. sells to George Holloway of Hunterdon County, New Jersey 130 acres on a ridge of hills lying between the river or creek called "Murkenebkong" and the South Branch of the Raritan River, adjoining the lands of Isaac DeCoues. This land sold to his brother James Holloway of Chesterfield in 1737. (Trenton Deeds U. p. 92)
Feb. 7, 1745, George Holloway of Bethlehem, Hunterdon County, N.J., and Ruth, his wife, sell to Yorie Elke 260 acres in Roxbury, Norris County New Jersey, which he purchased of Thomas Scholey in l733 for the sum of 170 Pounds (Trenton Deeds G, H. p. 426)
The following account of the Holloway Family was taken down from Joseph Holloway, son of Asa Holloway, who believes it to be substantially correct, 1854.
George Holloway, a resident of New Jersey, was born about the year 1709 and had nine children, John, William, Isaac, Mary, Sarah, George, Asa, Richard and James.
John Holloway had ten children namely, Jesse, John, Thomas, George, Dayton, David, Ephraim, Ruth, Charlotte and Abigail.
William Holloway had no children.
Isaac Holloway had eleven children, Amos, Abel, William, Asa, Samuel, Isaac, Abner, Nathan, Mary, Sarah and Phebe.
George Holloway had nine children, William, George, Thomas, Elisha, Benjamin, Laomi, Catherine, Mary and Sarah.
Asa Holloway (Father of Joseph) had eight children, Rebecca, Joseph, Aaron, Abigail, Samuel, Jacob, Robert and Asa.
Richard Holloway had no Children.
James Holloway had four Children, Daniel, Ruth, Sarah and James.
