Frankie, we have lots of information for you. I'm sure that your relatives are the ones we have been looking for in Ohio. The information we have was given to us by Thomas Nixon Carver. He would have been the great nephew of Abner. We would be glad to share with you what we know so far. Thomas Nixon wrote an autobiography called "Recollections of an Unplanned Life" in 1949 that chronicles the branch of the Carver family that Abner was from. He also left us a handwritten note that says the following:

John Henry Carver, son of Behour and Elizabeth Carver, was born in Germany 3, 9, 1758 and came to America when a young man as a Hessian soldier in the employ of the British, at the time of the American Revolution-probably @ 1775. He was so small in stature, that he did not do duty as a soldier, but was employed as an attendant upon the British officers. He left 3 brothers in Germany, whom he never afterward saw, and it is thought that at least two of them went to distant parts of the earth, as our grandfather was want to remark that the four brothers occupied the four quarters of the globe. After the close of the Revolution, John Henry settled in North Carolina, and after a time became a member of the society of Friends. He was a tailor by trade.
He married Tabitha Mitchel 2mo, 3, 1788 who was born 10mo, 10, 1768 and was probably a native of America and of Welch decent. She is known to have had two sisters, but no brothers. Her sisters married and moved to Tennessee and were afterward lost sight of by tabitha, who at the same time removed with her husband to Ohio-first to Concord near Mt. Pleasant-afterward to Flushing where they lived some years, and finally settled near Freeport, Harrison Co, where they spent the rest of their lives and raised a family of ten children.
William born 1, 5, 1789 and died 11, 2, 1793 in N.C.
John Henry born 2, 6, 1791 married Abigail Millison and had three children-Elizabeth Ann, John Henry, James Millison.
Rebekah born 7, 15, 1793 married John Thompson 9, 28, 1875 and had ten children-Tabitha, Sarah Ann, Mary, Bradway, Carver, Eliza, Trach, Ezra, John, Rezin.
Henry born 4, 4, 1795 married Anna Strall had six children - John, William, James, Ruthanna, Dimsdill, Henry Mitchell. Elizabeth born 5, 15, 1797 married Elijah Covington had eight children-Tabitha Ann, Ruhanna, Regecca, Margaret, Phebe, Sallie, Henry, Rachel.
James born 9, 21, 1799 married Mary Ferguson and had no children. His second wife was Mary Cox and they had one child - James.
Ann born 10, 7, 1802 married Thomas Raley and had six children-Robert, Tabitha, Ann, Abner, Sarah Jane, Phebe.
Abner born 1, 23, 1805 married Eliza Norris and had three children - Harriet (who died in her 2nd year), Harrison and Thomas.
Mary born 2, 27, 1807 married William Cox and had Thirteen children - Aseneth, Eliza Jane, Margaret, Rebecca, Robert, Mary Ellen, William, Abnerlearber(sp?), Azias Smith, Tabitha Ann, Henry, Elijah, Elizabeth.
Elijah born 1, 17, 1810 married Nancy Boals and had three children - Henry B, Mary Jane, James C. His second wife was Narcissa Bevar. Their children were Anna and Thaddeus.
This is copied from a document that Uncle Tom gave us and it is labeled "copy". I don't know what the original is. The third John Henry is my Great-great grandfather. He immigrated to Iowa with two children-Newton and Luther Rose. Luther had a son Ralph and two daughters Winona and Lillian Ethyl. Ralph is my father's father. My father is Carl Carver. We have been looking and looking for an Ohio connection. When the second John Henry died as a young man leaving a widow and three small children, she went back to Pennsylvania with her Millison family and lost track of the Ohio Carvers. The third John Henry went to Iowa from Penn. I don't know if he ever kept in contact with the other Carvers, but we would be interested in any information you can give us about the Ohio branch. Please write at the above address.
